Lyrics Training works in a pretty comfortable and simple way, Firstly, the person will have to enter in the website, and he/she will find some popular songs at the beginning that he/she can choose at will, then he/she will have to choose the level and choosing the song, there are different level, since beginner to expert, after that the video will be played with lyrics below, but depending on the level, some word will not be showed, then the person will have to put the effort to listen clearly, therefore find out what word it says and that is where his/her listening skills come in, and the use will see if he/she got it right or wrong.
Also, this website has another type of activity, similar to the previous one, only in this is multiple choice.
Why is this particular tool or technology relevant to language learning? What approaches to language learning or research underpin the use of this technology?
It is relevant as we are in touch every day with the technology, so with this entertainment the audience can stay alert any time that the student can be involved in learning, overall the tool is close to the characteristics of them because they can choose the music feel more appropriate to study, in addition how was mentioned before the ages are related to the song of the application is much easier to provides the autonomous work due to the interactive tool makes the student learn as much as they want.
How might you use it to foster language learning? Think about your target audience.
First of all, we would use the popular songs to get closer to the students, we would use music to their liking and that would instantly attract them, because they probably do not know what the singers are saying but they like the rhythm, and with that we could get their attention to teach them what the singers are really saying in their songs.
And our audience will be students between the ages of 13-17 years old.
What limitations can you see with the use of this technology for the purposes of language learning?
The application is useful for people who want to sharpen the ear but we came across with the limits such as in the application there are a lot of different songs however nobody knows each of the songs or how the application works, moreover some songs may contain inappropriate language to the child.
